Our hotel is a self check in property with keyless access.  You will receive an access code to enter the property in the days leading up to your stay and then an on the day reminder. This is a unique code to you for your stay.

Unfortunately we do not offer late check out.

We do allow dogs to stay at The Penn. This must be booked before your stay. Not all rooms are dog friendly. We only have 5 dog friendly rooms.
Additional charge of £25 per stay per dog.
*No charge for service dogs.
We provide a dog pack in the room. Bed, bowl, treats.
Dogs cannot be left in the room un-attended. So we ask if you are bringing a dog to make sure you book a dog friendly pub for dinner.

Due to the nature and age of the property we do not have accessible rooms. We have some groundfloor rooms that can be requested.

Yes. Please get in touch before your stay to notify if you require a crib.

Complementary Wi-Fi is provided in every room. Details to log in are in the room and the hallway on arrival.

Yes there is limited open air car parking at the property. This is restricted to only 7 spaces on a first come basis. We cannot guarantee or reserve a space.

Across the road (Church Street / A591) there is parking at Windermere School (LA23 1AP) this is £8.50 per 24 hours. You can pay via the RingGo app. You can see the hotel from this parking location.

Please feel free to use our carpark to unload luggage.

Broad Street Car Park (Windermere, LA23 2AB) is located a 2 minute drive or 7 minute walk away from The Penn and you can park up and leave your vehicle for the weekend. This is pay and display and has discounted rates for multiple days.

There is also limited free parking across from The Penn on church street as you leave Windermere on the A591 towards Kendal.

Manchester (MAN) is 87.8 miles away. This is a 90 minute drive via the M6 or available by direct train to Windermere Train Station (3 minutes from our doorstop).

The West Coast mainline runs to the east of the Lake District, connecting Oxenholme (which is near Kendal), With London & Glasgow. Oxenholme is a 20 minute taxi away or accessible by Bus or Train to Windermere Station (3 minute walk).
A direct train runs from Manchester to Windermere.
A local train runs from Oxenholme to Windermere.
We are roughly 300m from Windermere Train Station.

We currently do not offer this service. There are 4 fast chargers available within 250m of the property at Booths Supermarket.
